Went to the polyclinic today, accompanied by mummy & ZJ to have my dressing removed. Woke up freaking early in the morning so that mummy & I can take a ride from my dad on his way to work.
Who knows when we reached there to get the queue number, the queue nurse said I need a referral letter from the hospital in order to skip doctor consultation and go straight to the dressing room. Mummy chided me for not bringing everything with me during this, while I took the queue number :
2059. After much hesitation
[Like everyone, I hate to wait at the polyclinic too!] I returned the queue number and walked the freaking distance home to bring whatever documents I had from KK.
Along the way, ran into ZJ who happened to pass by on bus and I waved at him! Mummy had difficulty walking in her specs. She claimed the ground appeared to be floating to her whenever she wears them.
Once we
[In sweat...] reached home, mummy immediately changed into her contact lenses, while I extracted the much needed documents
[that might save me a lot of waiting time] and a piece of oatmeal bread. I'm not greedy okay. I had no choice. My stomach was rumbling away... Anyway, we went to wait for the bus
[We don't like to sweat too much you know.] after everything was done.
Reached there. The auntie recognized me as "the girl from earlier who forgot her letter". So I showed her the most similar to a referral letter document that I possess from KK and I got my direct dressing queue number :
2021.
Triumphantly I told I could get this done and over with soon enough.
Queue auntie ask me take number to
counter 1 auntie, where I listened to ZJ obediently and waited for my number to be called for quite awhile. But I realised I only need to approach her directly and it will be done and over with.
[ZJ kena a few punches from me for making me wait for nothing here.] Counter 1 auntie referred me to "Room 8 : Dressing". Even more proud of myself.
I thought I pulled it through when finally
2021 appeared. Went in with mummy, I sat down and show her the document that spared me the torture.
Dressing auntie stunned... As quoted from her,
“That one not a referral letter. A referral letter usually looks like this. [She takes out someone else's referral letter.] You have to see a doctor first before we can do anything to you. You go outside Room 5 wait for your number. Aiyah your folder not here, we have to call for your folder. So you have to wait for your folder to reach us first, then we refer you to Room 5 doctor. She see already write the instructions then you will come back here....................”
I was so freaking shock when I heard all the words tumble from her mouth with experience. Gosh. So now I know I need not have went back home, sweat so much from the walk and waste my bus fare just now. We left the room to join ZJ in the waiting area who happily thought the trip has ended. Only to learn the cold harsh rules of the polyclinic.
I waited so freaking long, and there were 3 indian teenagers sitting next to us playing these loud musics from their handphones.
[Pardon me, my friends know I'm not racist.] Though the music did gave the aunties and uncles quite a hard time waiting. But we are Singaporeans and Singaporeans are
KIASI and will avoid as much trouble as possible. So we all sat there tolerating their music. If only my handphone blast can outdo their's I might just have blasted my own music and wait for them to move away. Trust me even if they were Chinese I would have had the same reaction.
Anyway, the serving number when I started waiting for Room 5 was 2065 or something.
[Shouldn't I have just stuck to 2059!] I got sick of waiting when it finally at slower than snail pace jumped to 2088 or something. So I went back to Room 8 bravely and asked them how long more do I have to wait. Guess what. The same
dressing auntie said "still got about 2 to 3 more before you..." So I proceeded back to my seat.
When the serving number jumped 10 minutes later at Room 5 and it was still not
2021, I feel like bashing someone. Then the
dressing auntie opened 5's door and called "Teo Weng Weng". I was over the moon.
[Even though she pronounced my name as Weng when it's Wang.] Definitely jumped out of the uncomfy plastic seat and followed her into 8, NOT 5.
Then I almost fumed thinking I waited for nothing, until she said she will undress my wound and let doctor see. So I am privileged to be the one where doctor comes and attend to me instead of the other way round during usual polyclinic (& family doctor) visits. So she helped me remove the plaster and everything and ask me wait. Then
dressing auntie chatted me up say the wound had healed nicely and can be wet but need pat dry...
Ended up after that I laid there cold and dressed inappropriately and waited like another 10 to 15 minutes before the doctor came. All she did was look at the healing wound, then asked me what KK did to me for record in my folder, and said the same thing as the nurse did before.
[-_-]" Why need doctor???
The
dressing auntie then tell me if got pain or any problem then go back. No problem don't go back. *Shrugs* Maybe she can't stand me. I made payment promptly after. Saved doctor consultation fee because my service chit was messed up.
[They never indicate nicely I had to consult doctor and when cashier (not auntie) ask me I blur.] So I did not need to pay doctor consultation fee and the whole thing costs me $4.70 plus my precious sleep.
[Plus mummy's precious time and ZJ's sleeping time too.]The whole visit lasted for 2.5 hours, including return journey to get documents. And all the
'f***ing' words have been kindly replaced with
'freaking' to reduce my bad karmas.
Although I was rewarded with a McDonald's Big Breakfast
[Yummy!!!], courtesy of mummy!!!
Earned two 4D numbers from it too...
2021 &
2059. After that day's experience, mummy might just try to bet on these 2 numbers.
