waiwai 21st / best shot

yesterday was waiyee's 21st birthday chalet. even though she invited a few different groups of friends along with her extended family members and her father's colleagues, she did a very good job in making sure she did not neglect us for too long with any of the groups. the whole thing was superb and very fun (because of the people). even the buffet was good. i really dawn on me last night that waiyee is a very special girl.

and it makes me want to start making plans for mine which is all the way in November.

huiyu's mother called the 7 of us “七仙女”. 5 of the 7 went to have breakfast this morning half awake after only a few winks of sleep. after a cup of tea/coffee we were all awake and started talking about last time when they were practicing very hard in band and Chinese orchestra (CO). they each had their difficult experience in aiming for gold during SYF.

it reminded me of my secondary school days when it seems gold comes very easy for the band, chinese dance and guzheng, and champion for the volleyball team. yes i was proud for the school to be able to win so many awards but i never really take the time to appreciate the amount of time and effort they all put into it.

it is indeed “台上一分钟,台下十年功”. when people feel disappointed in their results, they should only question themselves if they have put in their best effort. if the answer is yes, then there is nothing to be disheartened about. if it is no, then there is no reason for them to be disappointed but to do so the next chance they have.

therefore we should give everything our best shot. ^^
